About Author
KATHY BLAKEMORE
Kathy Blakemore is a 63-year-old African American writer, mother of two, and proud grandmother whose life beautifully blends compassion, creativity, and curiosity. Born in Portland, Tennessee, and now living in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Kathy has built a life rooted in caring for others and expressing herself through words and art.
For the past eight years, Kathy has worked in the medical field and currently serves in a medical doctor’s office specializing in palliative care. Her role involves helping patients with serious illnesses find comfort through symptom management, emotional support, and guidance in navigating treatment choices. This work has been deeply rewarding and has strengthened her empathy and understanding of the human spirit.
Beyond her professional life, Kathy is an artist at heart. A lifelong lover of poetry, she has always found solace and beauty in written expression. Two years ago, she decided to take her passion a step further by embarking on her journey as a fiction author. Her goal is to invite readers into imaginative worlds filled with adventure, emotion, and wonder, crafting stories that stir hearts and expand minds.
Kathy also enjoys expressing her creativity through painting and crafts, often finding inspiration in the simple joys of life. When she is not writing or creating, she can be found watching K-dramas, a love that inspired her to teach herself the Korean language. Her fascination with Korean culture has made traveling to Korea, Japan, and Thailand a top priority on her bucket list.
Known for her infectious laughter and warm sense of humor, Kathy cherishes moments spent exploring new cultures, sharing stories, and spreading joy wherever she goes. With a certificate in medical billing and coding and a heart full of dreams, she continues to balance her compassionate career with her creative calling, proving that it is never too late to chase your passion and write your own story.
